Chain armour smithing is the skill used to make chainmail armor for humans and horses.

Wearing your chain armour smithing title gives a bonus while improving armour items, including barding.
Some items, particularly the pants and jacket, are difficult to create. They will not show up in the create menu unless you have a good anvil and/or high skill.
Chain armour can be made from any metal.
For speed comparisons check armour.
Using a title of the appropriate skill while improving items that count as human or horse armour gives a bonus to imping.
