A small metal padlock. It can be attached to small and large chests.

The chest's inventory window must be closed before attaching or removing a padlock, otherwise the Lock and Unlock options are not available.
To lock a chest, activate the padlock, right-click the chest, and select Lock.
To open a locked chest's inventory window, you must have the correct key activated.
To remove a padlock, activate the correct key, right-click the chest, and select Unlock.

The quality of the small anvil affects your success chance when creating.
The quality of the iron lump effectively limits the quality of the lock.
A key will automatically be created and it will have the same quality as the lock.
It is a very good idea to give locks and keys a meaningful name.
