To make an iron shortsword:
* Short Swordsman at 50 skill
* Gladiator at 70 skill
* Assassin at 90 skill


First, put the iron ore/lump in the forge until it is glowing hot.

Use the iron lump on the small anvil and select create>misc>shortsword blade.
